Learn what’s good to eat, what can heal you & what to avoid in this one day Wild Plant Crash Course

Your guide, Jake Cassar, has been described as an encyclopedia of bush knowledge, earning this reputation from decades of experience living and breathing all things bushcraft. Expect your day on this course to be an in depth field workshop on many edible & medicinal plants in the Australian bush, enjoying and learning from Jake's stories of how he has survived for extended periods in remote areas and his experience using bush medicine & exotic medicinal wild plants to heal himself and many others.

You'll also:

• Learn survival & tracking tips

• Where to find water in the bush

• See a friction fire demonstration

• Get up close & personal with the Kangaroos, Koalas & Wombats in the beautiful 80 acre Wildlife Sanctuary

• Discover bird ID and language

• Gain information on how to forage safely, sustainably and respectfully

• Plus much, much more!

This course is suited to beginners and experienced nature lovers who are looking to start/build on their journey into safe, sustainable and respectful foraging of edible and medicinal wild plants.

Held at the Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary, only 60 minutes from Sydney and Newcastle.

COURSE DETAILS

Arrive: 10.45am sharp for an 11am start.

Finish: Approx 3pm

What to Bring:

• Prepare for all weather conditions including hot, wet, and cold weather. A raincoat, hat, sunscreen, jumper etc. Hiking boots are ideal but not essential.

• Lunch, plenty of water and snacks (there is a fridge available if needed)

• Phone/camera

• MAKE SURE YOU BRING A NOTEPAD & PEN AS THERE IS A LOT OF INFO

** All courses support Jake's self-funded community work including tracking missing people, pets and conservation work **

** Cancellations: All ticket sales are final and non-refundable, however, you may resell or transfer them to a friend **
