About the event

This is a full 2 day course for the family with plenty of information to help you get started on a journey of safe and sustainable foraging and bushcraft in a relaxed, social and inclusive environment.

Due to popular demand Jake is running a family friendly Bushcraft and Survival Course at Ironbark bush camp at Mangrove Mountain.

Come and learn some extremely valuable skills in a relaxed, fun and social environment.

Jake Cassar has been described as an encyclopaedia of bush knowledge, earning this reputation by spending months at a time living largely from only what he can obtain from the bush.

** COURSE INFO **

Information on edible, medicinal and poisonous plants  Shelter building  Primitive fire making  String/rope making from natural fibres  Tracking skills and games  Cloud ID and weather prediction  Identifying animal tracks and bird calls  A hike to a magnificent waterfall  Stories around the camp fire of Jake's tracking and survival adventures

And much, much more!

Jake Cassar Bushcraft (JCB) acknowledges the Traditional Custodians and Elders past, present and emerging. JCB strives to interact with the land and all its inhabitants with the utmost respect.

Jake is also offering guests to set-up camp Friday afternoon if they wish (meeting at 4.30pm sharp - see below for more info), although the course starts at 10am Saturday morning.   You can camp in your tent, or in your car or however you choose!

Please make sure you book in advance to secure your place!

🌿The area we do a lot of the activities is right next to where you will park your car, so if you want to camp in or next to your car - it's easy as.

🌿It's worth noting that this is in a fairly remote area where there is no electricity, no amenities (pit toilets) and very limited phone reception. It would be worth making arrangements to let friends and family know that you may not be contactable for the duration of the course.  Telstra & Optus are ok, Vodafone not so much.
